Wonderfest 2017 Show Journal
(Page Two - Friday Morning)

(Friday, June 2 @ 2:13 am)
Beginning to regret not leaving earlier (yesterday?) I'm around half-way there, and am stopped to refuel my car. I've been periodically sipping some Wawa sweet tea I picked up before leaving NJ, to infuse some sugar and caffeine into my system.

Ok, break's over. Car's now filled up and I'm back on the road.

(Friday, June 2 @ 7:05 am)
OK, I've FINALLY arrived!

It seems that just about every state I traveled through had some sort of construction going on.

The PA Turnpike, West Virginia and Ohio ALL had reduced 55-mph zones set up in spots, (which really helped slow down my progress). They appeared to have reserved their after-hours work on the roads for a time when most sane folk wouldn't be on them. You know, the times when they'd be at home, sound asleep?

With most regular speed limits being 70 miles per hour though, (along with me being able to push the envelope ever s-o-o-o-o-o s-l-i-g-h-t-l-y), I was still able to make pretty good time.

That was still, nevertheless a ROUGH trip! (I had to take quite a few swigs of my sweet tea).

At around 5 in the morning I noticed a blue hue starting to appear in my rear-view mirror. It took me a moment or two to realize that I was traveling west, looking back at the east behind me and was seeing the sun come up on a brand-spanking new day. An hour later I was readjusting my rear-view mirror, to keep from getting blinded by the now new sun.

I had made reservations at the Rodeway Inn (located a mile down the road) a month or so back.

I checked in quickly upon arrival, (and the lady at the desk was even kind enough not to charge me for yesterday).

Sooooo, I've just unpacked and am going to get some shut-eye. (A good, sound snooze until 2 or 3 in the afternoon should be enough to set me right).
