The Miniature Figure Collectors of America’s 74th Annual Show and Mart took place back on Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th of this year. The show was once again held at the Valley Forge Casino and Resort, located in Valley Forge, PA.

(Background)
This was the eighth time I attended this modeling event, which ventures deep into the mysteries of miniature modeling, (and expands out into the general modeling realm) - sounds poetic, doesn’t it? - ;-)

During pretty much the entire week of the event I had been floored with a particularly nasty cold or flu or allergies. (It turned out to be allergies).

Even though I was still pretty well under the weather on the Friday of the show, I decided to forge ahead anyway, making the hour trip to Valley Forge, PA to attend the first part of this show.

Regular MFCA Photographer Nick was unable to attend this year’s show, and I had previously offered to be their “designated” photographer for the show. I figured that by attending Friday’s show, I could get a jump-start on taking pictures of some of the hundreds of miniature modeling masterpieces which regularly show up.

(Friday’s Show)
I arrived at the show on Friday at somewhere around 2 in the afternoon. (Friday’s show had begun at Noon, and was scheduled to run until 5 pm).

Although most of the action takes place at the show on Saturday, Friday’s show was quite busy, both in terms of attendees, along with exhibition models.

Upon entering the ground floor of the Valley Forge Casino and Resort, the first room I encountered was the Vendor’s room.
